This botanical spirit from Scotland’s first 100% organic distillery Nc'nean was created with a combination of the distillery's barley spirit and ten botanicals, such as wild bog myrtle, sorrel, heather and thyme. It was distilled a third time by Beinn an Tuirc on the west coast and bottled at 40% ABV.
The signature serve recommends pairing 50ml of the spirit with tonic water, a dash of Angostura bitters, and a grapefruit slice garnish.
Fresh barley, sea salt and tart citrus and dark fruit elements are followed by plenty of floral and herbal notes.
Found an article mentioning this Botanical spirit as I'd had a bottle of the Lindisfarne New Make adn I had to try it. Pine and Thyme on the nose, very forest floor after a rain. Mouths like a herbally gin but wiht a hint of malty-newmake on the finish. Watering it brings out the maltiness. Boy this makes a loverly GanT, like having a floral gin in your glass after your favourite whisky. Might be good in a few gin forward cocktails too, or maybe a herbal old fashioned?
Was put onto this at a friends party, refreshing, easy to drink and full of flavours
This is a spirit which you really can't call Gin ! For the person reviewed with : horrible Gin! Amazing spirit for Gin lover who want to know whisky slowly ! Refreshing , light and real innovation from amazing Brand .love it
NcNean Whiskey is spectacular but u fortunately this gin is horrid. I got a really strong taste of pine which reminded me of toilet cleaner! I honestly can’t drink it. Sorry, really wanted to love it and will buy whiskey again :(
It’s an interesting very mellow flavour which is delicious when mixed with tonic. Flavoured tonic even better. It has mild whisky undertones as opposed to the juniperry gin ones. Really like it and would recommend.
