Mekhong

Often mistaken as a sort of Thai whisky, Mekhong is actually made of 95% molasses and 5% rice. A popular drink amongst the tourist of Thailand.

Foul tasting brew that can only be used as the lowest base for poor quality cocktails. There are rumours that, like Singha beer, this spirit contains formaldehyde - maybe if they put more in it'd improve the taste.
I am always for the look for some exciting and different spirits. When I got Mekhong in my hands, I was really thrilled... until I opened the bottle. It is poorly distilled spirit, without any good aromas. Even worse, there can be obvious distillation flaws acknowledged - I would call it the rocket-fuel-syndrome... Don't even consider to buy it - there are only two spirits, which I even more despair: Indian cashew fanny and Chinese white spirit!
