From the Lyre's folks over in Australia comes a non-alcoholic spirit that would make a great alternative to use in cocktails such as an Old Fashioned or Boulevardier. The brand is named after the Australian Lyrebird, which is renowned for being able to mimic the calls of other birds. Oh, and what's with the bear? The North American black bear was used as the logo for this particular expression as it's made in the style of bourbon. But there's no alcohol here, just to be clear.
Smooth caramel and a hint of oak with a slightly spicy finish.
I thought this was amazing ...I had this with a small amount of coke ...would definately buy again...I do not drink alcohol anymore and this drink is really nice ...very strong taste ... similar to a bourbon....and I absolutely loved it .....
I've been sipping on a couple this evening for the first time and think it's excellent. Blends very well with a punchy ginger ale; it's rich, smokey caramel undertones elevate it to another level. Admittedly, it's not something I might drink neat, but I don't think it's designed for that. (All the low review scores maybe don't get that about it?). Would recommend for whiskey cocktails!
Like many others. My husband was not impressed! Not punchy enough!
I didn’t like it. Too sweet and burnt tasting. Even coke couldn’t disguise that taste. Might go in more fancy cocktails, but not for me
If you need a non alcoholic substitute for whiskey, you're better off with water. Couldn't give this away. No viscosity, no flavour, watery. The only 'kick' tastes like someone up ended a shaker of white pepper into it. No aroma, palate is like the pool of water that gathers at the bottom of your coffee machine
