The 291 Distillery out in Colorado, USA, produced a selection of top-notch drinks, including the ace single barrel bourbon spirit! It's made using a mash bill of 80% corn, 19% malted rye and 1% malted barley, with the rye standing out particularly well against the waves of rich corn. After distillation in a copper pot still, it's matured for a year, finished with aspen staves and bottled at 50% ABV. No barrel blending here - every bottle is drawn from a single barrel.
Clove and oak, mixed with fresh orange peel and caramelised walnuts.
Heavy vanilla and buttery brioche. A good helping of cask char follows.
Nutty bread, cinnamon and a kick of black pepper.
