A former officer of the US Treasury said that although legendary moonshiner Clyde May's activities were illegal, he "sure had a reputation for making fine whiskey."
Clyde May's Conecuh Ridge is an 'Alabama whiskey', based on May's practice of adding oven-dried apples to his barrels. Today, they appear to add just a little apple and cinnamon flavouring to batches of 5-6 year old bourbon (rather than actual apple). Quite delicious, but this would mean that it cannot be called whiskey in the EU.
By far one of the worst whiskys I have ever had. The artificial green apple flavoring just puts the hat on this already abysmal whisky. Don't waste your time and money. You would be better off getting Evan Williams.
