Barti
Barti Spiced from The Pembrokeshire Beach Food Company is a blend of Caribbean rums spiced with notes of vanilla, cloves and orange and one special, secret ingredient: Pembrokeshire laver seaweed, also known as Welshman's caviar. As it's bottled at 35% ABV, it can't technically be called a spiced rum, due to laws and that. The name derives from a famous Pembrokeshire Pirate, 'Barti Ddu', or in English 'Black Bart'.
Warm, rich baking spices, marmalade, and a wave of coastal saltiness.
Orange zest persists through cardamom, cloves and ginger, while toffee apples, vanilla and the faintest hint of red cola cubes provide an interesting back-drop.
Medium length, very smooth and a beautiful and interesting blend of spice and salinity.
Don't normally review but just had my first glass of Barti Spiced and I'm blown away by the quality of this drink. I usually drink Old J, Pineapple Grenade or Morgan's Spiced however this blows them all out of the water! The flavours are sweet at first but have a saltiness as it leave the tongue. Off to fill my second glass. Fantastic product!
Everything about this rum is sensational! It changed my perception of spiced rum forver - the taste is complex, smooth and more-ish. Can be enjoyed equally with a bit of ice or with a bit of high quality cola. The taste is pure seaside in the same way that the finest island single malts can transport you to a place. A must buy for any lover of good spirits
After long days surfing i sat by the fire on the beach next to cafe mor at freshwater west. i poured 2 messures into a hot chocolate. Next thing i new, i got a Powerful sweet taste with nice bursts of subtle seaweed coming through with hints of spice at the back of the toung. really pleasent to drink if you dont like high percentage spirits!
Amazing. An unusual Bubblegum and butterscotch experience.
Really took to this flavour at first but it can get sickly quickly. The flavour is unique and interesting and worth sampling. Good branding too.
