Bacanora Aguamiel
Distilled in Sonora, Mexico comes this blanco Bacanora from Aguamiel. Like Tequila and mezcal, it's produced from agave, though the distillation of Bacanora was illegal until 1992 and can only be distilled in Sonora. Aguamiel translates as 'honey water', and is the name for the sap that comes from the heart of the agave when it's cut open. This here is an unaged expression, double distilled and bottled at 41% ABV.
Smoky, with distinctive mesquite wood, a touch of liquorice and earthy, grassy agave.
