The Abhainn Dearg distillery is located on the the west coast of the Isle of Lewis, one of Scotland's Outer Hebridean islands. This is their new make, which is aged in Sherry casks for just a few months, before it's bottled.
Not sure why others think this was so bad, we loved this scotch. I'm trying to get more but it's currently out of stock.
A funny drink, doesn't quite taste like a whiskey being very floral, but incredibly smooth. Vanilla and wood shavings on the nose, lavender on the finish.
Possibly the worst Malt I have tasted, had this bottle for 4 years and decided to share with friends. Lack of anything resembling a malt, disappointing.
Awful. Disappointed I spent so much on something I could use to remove paint with. Even tried it in a hot whiskey but make some use of it, but that accentuated the horrible taste of it. They should have waited longer instead of rushing this out the door
My wife produced a whisky advent calendar from 24 unmarked miniatures and the ten year old version of this was up there with the best of the best; I can only presume the negative comments are from other island competitors afraid of the competition.
