Hacienda de Chihuahua
A reposado Sotol from the top Sotol producer, Hacienda de Chihuahua. It Is distilled from the Sotol plant - the Dasylirion wheeleri (desert spoon) - the plants take 15 years to reach maturity, and it takes an entire plant to make just one bottle of sotol! The reposado is aged for six months in new charred French oak casks.
A spicy, herbal nose, with hints of earthy roots, grassy with lemongrass, and hints of creamy sweetness.
A sublimely creamy and smooth palate with more lemongrass, becoming even more citrussy. Notes of spice, dark sugar, herbal.
Spices, oak, good length.

Not a Tequila, but some similarities; smoother and a welcomed change. Much better than any other agave (tequila or mezcal) I've tried recently. I'll stay with this for a good while. Can not believe the price for an organic, wild harvest agave.
I’ve had a bunch of tequila and sotol and I’ve found that this is one of my staples in the drinks cabinet. Flavoursome, smooth and no after burn. Can’t believe no one else has reviewed it, so, thought I’d stop being lazy. Thumbs up
