In my experience, this is a great entry point for someone new to Jamaican rum. The initial smell is quite extreme indeed, and it's not one to be sipped neat. Certainly not daiquiri friendly, but wow, my bottle is emptying fast mixed with lemonade, fruit juices, cola...
If you like Jamaican funk, but not hangovers, then this is a perfect alternative to the likes of Wray & Nephew. Pairs beautifully with cola or Ting, has all the right funky vibes, and at 40% it's one you can enjoy with less concerns for the morning after. A must have!
All the heady esters and overripe fruit of a real rum, at 40% for ease of drinking. Will offend the palates of those who were raised on over-aged, filtered rums. This is what white rum should taste like.
