A Navy Strength edition of the classic Smith and Cross Jamaica rum, this stuff is beautiful for sipping neat, and works tremendously well with a couple of ice cubes and a squeeze of lime juice.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Very aromatic and complex with notes of pipe tobacco, dark chocolate, winter spices, hints of dark fruit, as well as fried banana, a little suggestion of foam banana sweets too!
Palate
Thick and rich, massive spice notes carrying forth suggestions of dark fruit, prune, plum wine, vanilla, cedar, unlit cigars, calves leather and musty orange peel.
Finish
Long and very warming with notes of caramel and pepper on the tail.

A must try for any Navy Strength fan
A most excellent 100% Pot Still, non chill-filtered Jamaica Rum. A sipping rum for me but enough power to carry through what else substances one may adulterate it with. Wonderful concentrated depth and length of flavour to enjoy slowly over an evening. Pusser's Gunpowder Proof may still be my favourite but this is a most worthy contender.

Not your typical rum style, high alcohol content makes this a very robust enjoyable libation
My bars are all closed this pandemic so I have been enjoying my inventory and been on a Rum kick the past month. Just opened the bottle, added a few cubes of Fuji water and wow this reminds me of a scotch with its complex tastes. I am not one to go into details but after the initial shock and now understanding the style I have much respect.

Big hammer of a rum
Not for me, but it might be for you. I didn't like the smell (for me) I could elaborate, but i'd get banned, but i agree with the other notes here. I liked it mixed with coke, Its a heavyweight for sure, but with coke I did like it. It's not for me, but i enjoyed experiencing it. Jack Sparrow would drink this...

Like Appleton 15 on steroids!
Remarkable complexity for one so young...strong nose of toasted almonds, toffee, butterscotch, and tobacco...lesser intense aromas of cinnamon, barrel spice, fried plantains, starfruit, candied orange peel, ripe bananas, old leather, raisin chutney, and cardamom. Palate: intensely full flavored, and explosive on the entry-- with a long lifespan and good development in the middle...finish is medium-long, semi- drying, and richly satisfying. Palate matches the nose for the most part. Candied orange peels and cinnamon aromas permeate an empty glass of this stuff (after it's been fully oxidized). Slightly dryer than it is sweet, but well balanced and not over-oaked...good body. I did not test for added sugars, but i don't suspect much, if any here (anyone?). Fans of Appleton, and Pusser's, looking for a cask strength experience will love this. Appropriate level of alcohol heat for the abv, it does burn! No cheap alcohol smell detected. Paid $33 in Oregon, but if i could ONLY buy it here, $40 is still a good price!

Dick Turpin would've drunk this
The closest thing on the market now to authentic Jamaica rum as used in the famous/infamous punch bowls of the past. No holds barred, fierce and uncompromised. Fantastic for giving depth of flavour to cocktails or surprisingly good as a sipper (once left to breathe for at least 10 minutes)
