A Navy Strength edition of the classic Smith and Cross Jamaica rum, this stuff is beautiful for sipping neat, and works tremendously well with a couple of ice cubes and a squeeze of lime juice.
Very aromatic and complex with notes of pipe tobacco, dark chocolate, winter spices, hints of dark fruit, as well as fried banana, a little suggestion of foam banana sweets too!
Thick and rich, massive spice notes carrying forth suggestions of dark fruit, prune, plum wine, vanilla, cedar, unlit cigars, calves leather and musty orange peel.
Long and very warming with notes of caramel and pepper on the tail.
This rum is absolutely delicious. I have a measure with a single icecbe and the smell and flavour are amazing with incredible length. It's very hard to describe, there is a funky vegetal aroma to it along with banana, pineapple, sugar and a faint whiff of rubber. It also works incredibly as a 'sour' with either lemon or lime juice and sugar syrup. Definetly one to buy again.
Very potent Jamaican rum, I love this stuff. Full of dunder funk.
Sorry just don't get it..very industrial solvent on the nose and pallet. Can't recommend this rum for anything.
A high-ester natural rum from Jamaica. Packs a hell of a punch, is full of flavor. Magnificent.
Tastes like this (in order): fried banana, foam banana sweets, caramel, pepper, pipe tobacco (slight hint), orange peel with artificial taint to it, vanilla. Unusual, but good. Probably popular with people who like peated whisky while eating sweets. A surprising amount of taste at this price range. You'll likely a love it or hate it, though I'm undecided.
