From Salford Rum, the same folks behind The Salford Spiced Rum comes this dark spiced rum! It's the second rum from the Manchester-based distillery, featuring a blend of Caribbean rums matured in American white oak bourbon casks. A blend of vanilla, coconut, burnt caramel and clove is added to the aged rum, for a complex and warming flavour profile.
Earthy vanilla pod, distinctive clove and some tobacco in there too, with oak spice, wood char and caramel.

This is a lovely bottle which I bought as a gift. Feels quite weighty & expensive. I haven’t tried the rum myself but was told it was nice.
Bold, intense and satisfying. Mixed with coke it is extremely addictive. The spice flavours just hit you like a sledgehammer but in a great way. I can't recommend this rum highly enough.
As mentioned in other reviews of mine on dark spiced rums, I am no stranger to sweet flavours. This rum does not disappoint, although the flavours are much more restrained - I.e., the vanilla, liquorice notes develop on the finish. This is much more pleasurable than an artificial smack in the chops often found with artificial sweeteners. If you enjoy a balanced vanilla freshness with rich clove and liquorice finish, this is for you.
Salford rum never disappoints me and this is one of my favourites. It's very sweet and smells a bit like a Daim bar. Perfect on ice. Gorgeous bottle with a beautiful illustrate design too!
