From Salford Rum, the same folks behind The Salford Spiced Rum comes this dark spiced rum! It's the second rum from the Manchester-based distillery, featuring a blend of Caribbean rums matured in American white oak bourbon casks. A blend of vanilla, coconut, burnt caramel and clove is added to the aged rum, for a complex and warming flavour profile.
Earthy vanilla pod, distinctive clove and some tobacco in there too, with oak spice, wood char and caramel.

Really lovely dark liquorice flavour, hits quite different to what I'm used to but I like it a lot, and the bottle is certainly one to keep on display!

I have never poured rum down the drain after tasting it. Not until now.
Received a sample of this in the 2021 Advent calendar from MoM. Upon opening I immediately did not like the smell - something like black licorice mixed with....something. The taste was worse. It's quite rare in my home to waste adult beverages, but this was poured directly in the sink. Quite an unappealing rum.
