Here we have Runaway Bay, a rum named for a beach on the north coast of Jamaica. The pot still rum brings together rum from four distilleries on the Island, including high ester spirit from Trelawny and rum from Vale of Lluidas. It was then rested in a pair of barrels for at least 11 years, before being bottled in a limited release of 773 bottles. What's more, the glass is made from recycled bottles, topped off with a real cork stopper. A great introduction to high ester rum!
Heaps of ripe, ester-y fruit, namely banana and pineapple, along with coconut cream and unmistakable funk.
Tinned pineapple and freshly cut grass, along with dried fruit and oaky caramel.
Fried banana and ripe esters linger on a dry and peppery finish.

Bought this for my Dad, who loves rum. Says it will put hair on your chest but its the best he's ever had!
I usually drink whiskies and enjoy drinking them neat to try to identify the different flavours. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried this rum. You'll have to try it out yourself. I ended up buying two bottles - one to enjoy with friends and one as a collector's piece!
I have never though of myself as a run person - but goddamn this rum (on its own, or my personal favourite - with fresh lime and ginger ale) is so incredibly delicious. It tastes like my time in Jamaica - could not recommend more highly
Deeper, longer and richer than any rum I’ve tasted, with a real sense of place. The rum that’s got me into rum - highly recommended.
Wonderful rum! The smell alone as you open the bottle is enough to make you glad to own a bottle(s). The flavour is subtle yet complex, and doesn't feel forced. It's as much a sensation as it is a taste and it stays on your tongue. For me, Runaway Bay Rum has replaced a luxury whisky I'd been loyal to for a long time. I enjoy encouraging friends to try and have never yet been disappointed by their reaction.
