
Here we have an aged Dominican rum from Relicario, which has seen a rather interesting finishing period - hence its name - Peated Finish. It's made up of a blend of Dominican Republic rums, and after its initial maturation, the rum is finished in American oak barrels which previously held peated whisky from Speyside. Hmm, we wonder which distillery that could be from... The earthy smoke from the barrels works rather well alongside the molasses notes in the rum, making for a fine sipping rum. Perhaps a rum to convert whisky lovers...
Dark notes of treacle, brown sugar and vanilla, underpinned by subtle hints of peat smoke, chocolate digestives and oily toasted nuts.
