Planteray 3 Stars is a crisp, tasty white rum made by blending spirit produced in Jamaica, Trinidad and Barbados. Some of the rums in the blend are aged, though their colour is removed via a process of carbon filtration.
Hints of dried coconut and guava. A little honey too, and soft spice.
Spiced palate entry. Creamy vanilla custard, fresh sugar cane honey and even a hint of agave.
Floral finish. Zinging spices.
Agree with the tasting notes others have provided - it's a really nice balance of smooth enough to drink neat and interesting enough to be fun in cocktails, at a price point that's perfect for being an all-rounder. It's probably going to be a mainstay in my liquor cabinet for a while to come.
I've tried a number of other white rums for mojitos but always seem to return to buying this one. Don't think I've ever tried it neat so can't comment on that but I certainly recommend it for mojitos.
Only white rum I've tried so far that is decent. For the price and 41.2% this is a bargain. A good, smooth, fruity taste that goes well with simply apple juice and lime. I taste pineapple in the finish.
Got this from my wife as a Xmas present. Have got back into Rum after many years and love this one. A beautiful taste with nothing too over the top. I absolutely love the aftertaste which gives that hint of spice and zing. Lovely on its own without any mix.
To be honest, I liked the taste profile: very changing from coconut to banana and eventually pleasantly strong in the end. Good worth for cash, at least in my opinion.
