A fabulous rum from Mauritius, flavoured with vanilla and spices including nutmeg. It was named for the Pink Pigeon, a bird that is native to the island and recently climbed from critically endangered to just endangered. (You know times are bad when being "endangered" is a step up.)
Spiced, sweet and thick with molasses, cassia and hints of clove.
Custard to the fore, with a little toffee brittle, guava and cardamom. Hints of nutmeg and cedar.
Toasty, charred oak on the finish. Very sweet.

Did they change the recipe when they changed the bottle? I don't like the new look, it used to look much more premium in the black bottle. Do I just taste with my eyes or is there more of an alcohol burn now?
Great easy to drink spiced rum, plenty of vanilla sweetness. Preferred neat over ice.
Neat this rum is tolerable, as you get an immediate hit of sweetness from the vanilla, followed by an alcohol burn that is not too fierce, but instead warming, and quite easy to stomach. Mixed with Coca-Cola Pink Pigeon manages to appease both the rum drinkers who like their rums sweet and tasty, and also those who like their rums sugary, but also with a noticeable kick to it. So yes Pink Pigeon is more than ok and I have no hesitation in recommending it to my drinking buddies, who prefer their rums sugary sweet.
Very nice, didn’t expect that , but very enjoyable
This spiced rum is ok, but for me it's a bit of a vanilla overload. Not something I could drink very much of.
