A fabulous rum from Mauritius, flavoured with vanilla and spices including nutmeg. It was named for the Pink Pigeon, a bird that is native to the island and recently climbed from critically endangered to just endangered. (You know times are bad when being "endangered" is a step up.)
Spiced, sweet and thick with molasses, cassia and hints of clove.
Custard to the fore, with a little toffee brittle, guava and cardamom. Hints of nutmeg and cedar.
Toasty, charred oak on the finish. Very sweet.

This was far to sweet for my tastes and the vanilla overpowering. It probably has a place in a cocktail but not for sipping.
