The smashing VSOP single estate rum produced at the Medine distillery on the west coast of Mauritius for the Penny Blue range is an excellent value-for-money dark rum suitable for enjoying in cocktails, mixed drinks and simply sipping neat. The name comes from a particularly rare stamp (a fact which should have been immediately obvious to all the philatelists out there).
Tantalising notes of orange zest and oak-y cinnamon, with wafts of salted caramel underneath.

First off, I am giving this a 4 because it cost me £25, and in my opinion the quality of taste and the presentation is way beyond this price range. A good honest tasting rum, superb for sipping with an adequate sweetness, but slightly dry and full bodied depth and a host of lovely flavours. I bought it as a gamble and will definitely buy it again, and again LOL................... I love this stuff !
I bought this rum last month as a little extra (only to get free delivery), had never tried it before, so I thought for the price, why not. It was lovely, neat, with Coke and with Ginger Beer. I will deffo buy again, loved it
I brought this Rum mainly due to the price, plus I have not had a Rum from this part of the World, so thought I would give it a go. First impressions, the Rum is very light in Colour and not much nose. Had a sip and was really surprised on how good it was. There was no after burn at all, just nice and smooth Rum. Is this a mixing Rum or One for sipping, I would say both. I notice that they also do a XO, so that is one my list. I would purchase this Rum again, for price you cannot do better. So I will have to give it 1 5 Star rating. Kev Doncaster
