Based around the vibrant flavours of Persian lime and vanilla paired with classic rum notes, Old J Spiced Rum Spirit Drink (technically it's not a rum, as its ABV is under 37.5%) goes great over ice or splashed in a cocktail.
If, like me, you were disappointed when they changed the Sailor Jerry recipe a while back then you will love this. This is very reminiscent of SJ’s old recipe, hence the name. Sweet. Vanilla. Caramel. Brown sugar. Cinnamon. A teensy drop of cherry, and a bit too much lime on the finish for my liking. A regular fixture on my run shopping list.
So smooth. Nice caramel and a little cinnamon to finish.
As a lover of spiced rums I always like to try something new, was pleasantly surprised about how nice and thoroughly moreish this was. Lots of vanilla and citrus cinnamon, slightly sweet but not to the point of being a rum liqueur.
I don't get it... Tastes like someone has got a load of artificial flavouring and dumped it in a bottle. Undrinkable rubbish in my opinion.
