Mount Gay XO Triple Cask Blend
Another tasty expression from Mount Gay, XO Triple Cask Blend is a blend of pot and column still rums. After resting in a combination of American whiskey, bourbon and Cognac casks, it's then blended and bottled at 43% ABV. We've heard it's rather nice paired with a large coconut ice cube if you've got one handy.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Clove-studded orange, a dusting of cocoa, lychee and salted caramel.
Nose
Rich and fruity with banana loaf and pineapple, and darker notes of currants join waves of vanilla, roasted nuts, a touch of clove, and earthy tea.
Palate
Creamy waves of vanilla, pastel de nata, and coffee, with boozy cherries, dried mango, lychee, salted caramel, and clove-studded orange.
Finish
Peaches, apricots, vanilla, oak char, and balanced chilli flake warmth.
