Distilled in Barbados, this expression from Mount Gay was named for the 'double phenomenon' of a total solar eclipse and the passage of Halley's comet in 1910.
The nose is full and rounded with notes of fresh flowers and honey, a little vanilla and tropical fruit. The palate is fruity and well-rounded with notes of banana, vanilla, smoke, toasty oak, spice. The finish is long and spiced with toasty oak.

For the price I had low expectations but it's surprisingly mellow and floral. An easy, if unremarkable sipper, but the honey banana notes make it a shoo-in for cocktails which is exactly what I was after.
Perfecty done. Mellow And smooth , gets you right and creates the mood. Great buy :)

mt gay eclipse is all i drink. buy it at dirt cheap. went today, Sun before labor day and they were sold out. I guess i will stop telling others to buy it.
Mount Gay Rum is the best. I have been drinking Mount Gay Eclipse since the Prime Importer was Laird & Co. After all these years you now change not only the label but the shapes of the bottles. Them1.75 liter is much Too hard to handle. It is much easier. To handle with A handle.
