Kraken Spiced Rum is an excellent example of spiced rum, with utterly brilliant packaging! This was launched in the UK in early 2010, and it has an extraordinarily rich, spicy flavour. Named for the legendary sea monster, Kraken is a blend of Caribbean rums that should certainly suit any fans of rich, navy-style rum.
Spicy and rich with notes of vanilla and toffee apples. Hints of lime and cinnamon too.
Dark, rich palate. Thick with molasses and tar, and a barrage of cinnamon, golden syrup, nutmeg and charred oak.
Long, very spicy finish.

Good value rum
I usually drink Wood’s but can’t buy it in France. Kraken was suggested and I bought a bottle. Disappointed; more than a hint of Nitromors on the nose and the rum is thin and insipid. Vanilla is about it.
I was in the army for 12 years I have drank all sorts of rum but never in a million years would I have thought i would taste a rum like KRAKEN it is out of this world thank you ???
Harsh ethanol on the nose, sickly vile taste on the tongue. If you drink rum neat, avoid this like the plague. If you like cocktails, use almost anything else.
