Kraken Spiced Rum is an excellent example of spiced rum, with utterly brilliant packaging! This was launched in the UK in early 2010, and it has an extraordinarily rich, spicy flavour. Named for the legendary sea monster, Kraken is a blend of Caribbean rums that should certainly suit any fans of rich, navy-style rum.
Spicy and rich with notes of vanilla and toffee apples. Hints of lime and cinnamon too.
Dark, rich palate. Thick with molasses and tar, and a barrage of cinnamon, golden syrup, nutmeg and charred oak.
Long, very spicy finish.
Love this, my favourite spiced rum! Appleton Gold is my usual rum.
Was bought a bottle as a present. I normally only ever drink Mount Gay XO or Wood’s so only have those to use as a point of reference. I thought Kraken to be rather thin with no real hard hitting flavours. Still, it worked in a Dark & Stormy (I used Crabbies alcoholic ginger beer)
Anyone who doesn't like Kraken obviously has No Tastebuds....... It's the Best by far ?
Superb value for money, far nicer to drink than something like ‘Woods’ (Which is basically nitromors). Sweet, vanilla and smooth to the taste with a hint of toffee. I never go without a bottle on my shelf.
