Kraken Spiced Rum is an excellent example of spiced rum, with utterly brilliant packaging! This was launched in the UK in early 2010, and it has an extraordinarily rich, spicy flavour. Named for the legendary sea monster, Kraken is a blend of Caribbean rums that should certainly suit any fans of rich, navy-style rum.
Spicy and rich with notes of vanilla and toffee apples. Hints of lime and cinnamon too.
Dark, rich palate. Thick with molasses and tar, and a barrage of cinnamon, golden syrup, nutmeg and charred oak.
Long, very spicy finish.
One of the best out there! once you try it you just gotta buy it!
i have tried several different rums in my years .. but i always end up back with the good capatin morgan... i found the kracken to basically be in the words my son son .. thats ugh mum... there was nothing i liked with it, i varey from pepsi max, blackcurrent or ginger ale with my rums but none went with this rum. it left an aftertaste that lingered for a while, friend tried it, he liked it so i donated it to him :) i hope so one buys me any for xmas

Never been one to drink spirits, but decided to try rum..... Which was a good plan prior to going to the Caribbean! I found this to be a very enjoyable drink, usually mix with coke. Nice taste, sits well in the mouth, certainly moreish. A very good introduction to rum I think. Had Mount Gay in Caribbean, again very nice, but for me Kraken is an anytime tipple (once the noon ticks over.... Obviously!!)
Best spiced rum I've tasted, warm on the back of your throat going down, gives a nice spice aftertaste, could drink whole bottle if the wife wasn't in ha ha ha.
