Kraken Spiced Rum is an excellent example of spiced rum, with utterly brilliant packaging! This was launched in the UK in early 2010, and it has an extraordinarily rich, spicy flavour. Named for the legendary sea monster, Kraken is a blend of Caribbean rums that should certainly suit any fans of rich, navy-style rum.
Spicy and rich with notes of vanilla and toffee apples. Hints of lime and cinnamon too.
Dark, rich palate. Thick with molasses and tar, and a barrage of cinnamon, golden syrup, nutmeg and charred oak.
Long, very spicy finish.
Each year I celebrate Trafalgar Day and last night was no exception, not having any RUM in the house, off to the supermarket. The Kraken looked the right choice. The taste is amazing, licorice, cream, chocholate came through with no kick, the spices were smoothe a very drinkable drink and before I knew it half the bottle had gone, roll on October 21st 2015

There are black rums and there are spiced rums. Kraken is one of a new breed that is both, and so far they're the best I've had. In a lot of other black spiced rums, various flavors stand out here and there which is offputting. In Kraken the flavors really meld together into a smooth, spicy, sweet, and dark rum.
Just taken delivery of 2 bottles of kraken black spiced rum & just had a tot to sample them my verdict is I have to say I made a very wise choice indeed - it's absolutely delicious ! I was a little nervous about buying something I had never tasted before by the internet but I need not have worried , I am grinning from ear to ear & I dare say the grin will widen even more when sampled later on ! Very satisfied indeed , service from master of malt is second to non & items arrived exactly when they said they would , I recommend master of malt & I definitely recommend kraken black spiced rum !
My last review gave it 5 stars.. but this was an mini-bottle. It was in fact 47% alcohol. This bottle appears to be 40% in the photo. Take it for what it is.. I just wanted to clear things up.
