Kraken Spiced Rum is an excellent example of spiced rum, with utterly brilliant packaging! This was launched in the UK in early 2010, and it has an extraordinarily rich, spicy flavour. Named for the legendary sea monster, Kraken is a blend of Caribbean rums that should certainly suit any fans of rich, navy-style rum.
Spicy and rich with notes of vanilla and toffee apples. Hints of lime and cinnamon too.
Dark, rich palate. Thick with molasses and tar, and a barrage of cinnamon, golden syrup, nutmeg and charred oak.
Long, very spicy finish.
It a great rum but it comes with a note to the young rum drinkers this rum is strong and has a massive hangover attached to it enjoy at you peril , happy day's guys .
Drank neat, Kraken is disgusting. All you can taste is burn in the mouth, and burn in your stomach, from all the searing spices that are used to create this monster. But add some Coca-Cola and turn this nightmare into a long drink and it’s a totally different ball game. With Coca-Cola, Kraken goes from being a savage Pit Bull to a gentle Boston Terrier. Mixed with coke, Kraken becomes much less intense, much sweeter, and even smells better, turning this Spiced Rum into something half decent to stomach.
Love it my second fave tipple after Tia Maria
Smells just like a bottle of vanilla extract and to be honest, tastes like it too...glad I only bought a 50ml bottle, it's not terrible but I won't be getting it again.
