Blackwell Black Gold Rum was created by Chris Blackwell, who also happens to be the owner of Island Records. The dark rum itself is distilled and blended by J. Wray & Nephew in Jamaica. It was made in the style of a traditional recipe from the days when Blackwell's mother's family owned J. Wray & Nephew and the Appleton estate.
Bittersweet mocha and woody spice, with touches of oak char and caramel throughout alongside a burst of vibrant ripe tropical fruit, namely kiwi.

Nothing special. Tastes like Lamb's Navy rum, which is cheaper.
very good tasty rum with a nice kick to the throat.
Very typical spiced rum smell with notes of warm spices, little oak and synthetic vanilla. Not terribly sweet, with a fairly strong alcohol hit that may hide subtle flavors while sipping. It may be more suitable as a mixer where the vanilla doesn't detract and the sugar of typical spiced rums is not needed/wanted(e.g rum & coke). It may also be a good sipper for those that want a less sweet version of the Captain. That said I can always find Goslings at a lower price and is a far superior to rum this and much more versatile.
Good for the money ! If you like this they Havana club 7 similar money
Sweet and light. Lovely with ginger beer and a summer BBQ drink.
