I bought this on a whim, knowing it had won an award. This is modernist blended rum on a whole new level. This is high ester, high funk, high taste. This is up there with the funkiest of Jamaican rums i've tasted. The nose is crazy, and takes a leap of faith to dive in. On the palate, BOOM. All i can think is high funk Jamaica. But there's more. It also has it's own vibe going on. I've now drank 2 bottles of this stuff. It's immense. it's funky, not too sweet, and has a great mouthfeel. Oooft
