Gosling’s Black Seal combines rums from both pot and continuous column stills. The name comes from the black wax that was originally used to seal the bottles, but now there’s an actual black seal on the label. The iconic rum has been produced in Bermuda since 1806, which is a pretty long time. "If you're doing something right, don't fix it" and all that... You’d be a fool not to serve this in a Dark ‘n’ Stormy, as the cocktail is actually trademarked by the Gosling brothers.
Sweet, dark, cooked fruits. Fruitcake, spice, herbal.
Balanced with thick, sweet spices, stewed fruits.
Spiced, crisp, tingling.

Agreed it does make a great dark and stormy, now it's gone do I order another or try something different?
Nice for mixing Dark n Stormys are lovely tried making them with other rum and it doesn't work.
I am actually from bermuda and it is what i grew up with. i do agree its not a rum for sipping and more for making our local mixed drinks such as the Dark N Stormy. it turns this rum into such a wonderfully sweet tasting drink that you cant get enough of. our rum swizzle is also amazing. its a mixture of fruits. like a very tropical fruit punch served with ice. you can never get enough.
Have to agree with Dan. Initial flavors are there but the finish leaves a bit to desire. It comes of as a bit unbalanced in that the initially great flavors drop off quickly to a very sharp and harsh finish. Then again for the price you pay it's good value. Probably a good rum for mixing, less so for sipping. ~US
poured sparingly over the top of a mojito as a float....delighful
