Fabulous rum
So got this on day 22 of the rum advent calender 2020 and wow thoughr this would be xmas eve as the most expensive. This is rank 1 of all the rums i have had and has knocked my previous 1st position Ron Elixir Orange - Compañero. The flavours are incredible. And can not stop sipping my drink.

A drink experience.
A much smoother version of the 12yr that I tried and that was great but in all honesty I put the extra cash to it if i'm flush and get the 25yr old, it's not just a drink but an experience.

Great nose, disappointing pallet.
Wish this was at 46% in all honesty, the lower abv really diminishes the potential here.
Nose: strong, dark fruit, leather, Sherry, liquorice, broen sugar, oak spice, cinnamon, ginger, oak, char, slight match sliver smoke, cinnamon roll, vanilla, toffee, caramel, coffee
Pallet: overly spicy up the front of the pallet, watery after the initial hit, oak up front then follows over the mid tongue, thin feeling, bitter mid-finish, green/unripe bananas, tannins, slight tropical fruit, tastes Young, dried fruit, black coffee, Sherry, very light brown sugar, lingering bitterness on the finish.
Bit of a shame really- had much better at a drastically lower price I.e. el dorado 12 year blows this out of the water.
Although it’s a different style of rum, you may prefer the lighter overall pallet, with the spicy oak/spices on the initial taste

this is one of the smoothest tastiest rum i have ever tried.

Lacking smoothness
Surprisingly harsh. Some sweet chocolate, cocoa, caramel and a touch of banana, but it's rather dry and woody with an astringent finish, and quite fiery for a premium spirit.
