An award winning rum; this took a silver at the 2006 and 2007 International Wine and Spirits Competitions. This also attained a Gold at the International Review of Spirits. A great mixing rum, very crisp and fresh.
Crisp with notes of coconut and icing sugar, some tart citrus with cocoa and buttery toffee.
Dry, medium body with notes of dark brown sugar, nutty notes with hay and coconut.
Long and grassy, vanilla sweet.

El Dorado 3 year old is an average white rum in the grand scheme of things. El Dorado 3 makes a pleasant Daiquiri but I've tasted many better white and gold rum Daiquiris. El Dorado 3 gets lost in a rum and coke and is overall an ok white rum. I would rather buy Chairman's Reserve White or Havana 3 year for a Daiquiri or the El Dorado 8 or 12 for an all rounder Demerara Rum. El Dorado 3 is a decent rum but I wouldn't buy it again.
... of white rums. Full bodied, with a creamy mouth feel, good enough to drink on its own, and still perfect for long mixed drinks and cocktails. If you want white rum to be felt not tasted, buy B*c*rd* instead. El Dorado 3 yo is a rum lovers' experience, not just falling down water for mixing with sweet fizzy drinks.
Best among the rum for the money, a must in every bar cabinet: -D
Bought this for various cocktails and it works very well in everything I have tried it in. It doesn't take over with a particularly strong taste but it is subtly flavoursome.
I bought a bottle of this El Dorado 3 year old white rum in Decmber 2020. I wanted it for mojitos. It's excellent for mojitos and works very well with berry based tropical punch. Will be buying another soon.
