A snazzy looking rum all the way from Venezuela, Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva is a molasses based rum that is distilled in copper pot stills and matured in whiskey barrels. Top stuff for sipping neat or over ice, but also a very good bottle to have on hand when rum cocktails are on the menu. If you're feeling particularly experimental, try using Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva in place of a whiskey in a Manhattan. It works excellently. This fab rum was awarded a Gold Medal at the International Sugar Cane Spirits Tasting Competition in Ybor City.
Aromatic with hints of sultanas, chocolate, Christmas cake and gingerbread. Offers up bananas and custard with time in the glass.
Cocoa and vanilla, huge notes of oaky spice, brandy, plums and pepper.
Sweet coffee, Demerara sugar and oak.

This rum liqueur is a good one for those new to rum. It's very tasty at first when you're not accustomed to the finer side of drier, unsweetened rums, but once you are, this begins to taste like the mouthful of syrup which it is. 42 grams of added sugar per liter in this bottle, which is 14 sugar cubes. Let that sink in.
Way too sweet. Rum in name only.
My review is identical to "Outstanding!" of below. This Rum is simply delicious as it is, straight up. To see someone mixing this nectar with a soda abomination is deserving of a stern rebuking.
Absolutely delicious and smooth. One of, if not the best at any price point.
Don't let the low price fool you, this is an outstanding sipping rum. One of my personal favorites. Absolutely delicious and smooth.
