A wonderfully well-rounded spiced rum here from the Devon Rum Co., featuring a blend of Caribbean rums, alongside local wild flower honey and a host of spices. As you might expect, the result is luxurious and creamy, with a sweet, subtly spicy flavour profile which is perfect for sipping over ice with a wedge of fresh citrus.
Vanilla pod, nutmeg, toast with a thick layer of honey, apple, orange, peppercorn.
The spice element is very obvious. So strong it over powers the rum flavour. Disappointing.
I bought this looking for something much sweeter as it says honey and maple syrup and expecting a nice layer of honey but was disappointed. I could barely taste the honey and it was very strongly spice considering. Yes, it's ok as a spiced rum but avoid if looking for something sweeter and ignore the honey part.
What can I say but this rum is dangerously nice. Tried it and couldn’t stop. Not as sweet as I was expecting but perfectly balanced.
