A rhum agricole from the Damoiseau Distillery in Guadeloupe. This VSOP expression has been aged on the Caribbean island in bourbon barrels for four years before it was bottled, giving some of the more mature oaky notes alongside agricole freshness.
Sweet and warming, with dried mango, cocoa, cut grass, oak spice and oak char, sugar cane and a peppery finish.

A lovely expression of aged, tropical agricole rhum! Works well in a Mai Tai of sorts! Also really enjoyed with ginger ale and ice.
Not a fan... far too green and grassy for my taste. Might have to try it in a cocktail. I'll stick to my darker rums from now on....
