An interesting expression from Australia's Cargo Cult rum range, which has been flavoured with bananas from North Queensland, alongside a selection of lip-smacking spices. This should make a great daiquiri, we reckon.
Fruity esters kick things off, with brown sugar caramelising in a pan, earthy vanilla pod and a handful of cinnamon sticks following on. Green apple, stem ginger and buttery biscuits. Dry spices linger on the finish, with a final hint of banana fritter.
Whether it's mixed with cola or straight, it works either way. Contrary to previous reviews, I find it straight to be the best way to appreciate its complexity, as I'm sure that was the intention of its producers. Not overly sweet sweet, but loads of different aromatic flavours.
Not one for drinking neat, but has lovely banana flavours for cocktails. If you like the banana/ vanilla flavour of this then I'd recommend bumbu - a much nicer sipping rum
This rum is not one I would recommend on its own you will definitely need a mixer. The after taste of the banana is really nice.
If you don't like bananas, don't buy this. If you do? Holy Cthulu it's DELICIOUS
Delicious! Ripe Banana balanced with spices - and not a sugar bomb either - finishes quite dry!
