The folks at Burning Barn set out to make a spiced rum that was... Well, spicy. As luck would have it, they succeeded in their quest! This warming tipple features ginger, Bird's Eye chilli and allspice at its core, alongside a few hints of vanilla and coconut for good measure.
Red chilli heat, with lively ginger and crushed peppercorn in support. A pinch of brown sugar and diced almond gives it a suggestion of sweetness, but the spiciness is the star of the show.
I can't seem to like this - an odd 'after taste' and not a particularly pleasant one if I'm honest. The burnt bit would have been better left out - plenty of much nicer spiced rums out there
