Here we have a higher strength bottling of the Original expression from Bumbu, now bottled at 40% ABV! The aged Caribbean rum has had native spices added to it, inspired by 16th and 17th century recipes used by West Indian sailors. With tropical fruit and spices at the fore, a splash of ginger beer would do well to bring out those warmer notes.
Banoffee pie, oak spice and caramel, with touches of chocolate and allspice.
£5.45 - £42.49
yes it has a sweet vanilla taste but when mixed with fresh lime juice and any simple tonic water it is delicious, perhaps coke would be to sweet but with fresh lime really delicious.
This is an absolute staple on my shelf. Fantastic flavour, BUT if you do not like banana or vanilla, you will not like this rum
This is very good Rum, ignore the naysayers of this not being a "true" rum. If you like it isn't that all that really counts ?
Unusual on first taste, definitely not a typical rum and is very disappointing. The vanilla overtones are dominant and maybe a bit overpowering which exhibits a sweetness that is even hard to add a mixer. Might be acceptable with a dry ginger ale but overpriced for a mixer.
I was a scotch drinker through and through until I played a pirate in a panto. The tipple of the dressing room was rum and I discovered Discarded. This is better, I mean way better; makes me do a little pirate jig every time I taste it. Yes banana and toffee, I didn't know I was a banana fan, especially not in drinks, but this stuff is heaven. Haven't touched a scotch for a while now
