Here we have a higher strength bottling of the Original expression from Bumbu, now bottled at 40% ABV! The aged Caribbean rum has had native spices added to it, inspired by 16th and 17th century recipes used by West Indian sailors. With tropical fruit and spices at the fore, a splash of ginger beer would do well to bring out those warmer notes.
Banoffee pie, oak spice and caramel, with touches of chocolate and allspice.
So smooth and very drinkable by itself. Vanilla flavours come through an enjoyable tipple
I purchased this after reading the reviews below.. You will not be disappointed! This rum is a heavenly sweet and vanilla scented aswell as tasting. For me price Vs quality this can't be beaten , an absolute stunner of a rum
I love rum, I've had plenty of corkers and several "OK" ones, but this is awful, I've used it for cooking several times and even in hot chocolate, which is a no no for me as I sip mine neat usually. As a few other reviewers have said it's sickly sweet and has an awful aftertaste. I'm not particularly fussed as to whether it being 37% proof makes it "a real rum" or not, but I'd be much happier if I actually enjoyed drinking it.
Brought for Christmas, still in the drinking cabinet after a sample as it felt too nice to share. Gorgeous, warming flavours!
