A richly flavoursome rum from the Philippines, inspired by the story of Papa Isio, who played a big part in the late-19th century Philippine revolution. The rum itself is made using sugar cane grown on the island of Negros in the Philippines and matured in oak barrels before its blended and bottled.
Fruity notes up front, with sweet tangerines and apricots. This is followed by vanilla ice-cream, drizzled with runny toffee sauce.
Bags-full of vanilla and cinnamon. Hints of raisin, sultana and marmalade.
Medium length with punchy cinnamon.
Rather exciting stuff.

A delicious rum, extremely smooth, with vanilla and caramel notes. Great on the rocks, or with ginger beer and a squeeze of lime.
A smooth drinking for pleasure rum, with a lovely texture and taste ( to my pallet. ) I was brought up on rum when I was in the Royal Navy. I was presented with your gift box for Fathers Day. the the combination of Don Papa rum, Ginger beer and lime was unusual, but very pleasant. Thank you.
Straight sipping, it's not a very good experience. With overwhelming notes of vanilla and blood orange, very sweet with bitter back notes of artificial sweeteners and burnt spice. Comes across as more a liqueur than a rum, might be good for baking
Cheap-tasting rum with a very unsubtle dollop of vanilla essence, and branding and pricing to try to compete with delicious Caribbean beauties like El Dorado, Diplomatico etc. Quintessential Brands Ltd at their worst - you can't turn ordinary cheap rum into great rum by adding vanilla. The product manager who did this should be sacked.
This rum is surprisingly very good. I am a big fan of CM Spiced Gold, but this one makes a good second choice. Yes it is a little sweet but the smell is pleasant and after taste good. Highly recommended.
