Black Tot Historic Solera
Black Tot Historic Solera, from the team that brought us a modern take on the Navy blend, very much does what it says on the tin. This solera-matured stunner is a proper blend with a proper breakdown: Guyana and Barbados lead the charge, with a dash of high-ester Jamaican pot still funk. Aged in bourbon casks seasoned with Pedro Ximénez and oloroso, then matured through a three-tier solera system for layered depth. No sugar or filtration here.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
A wave of chocolate-covered raisins, sticky toffee, and the faintest flicker of banana. Then come the sherry notes – strawberry jam, peach fuzz, and tart raspberry. A lick of ginger and a puff of dusty oak round it out.
Palate
Toffee and PX sweetness up front, followed by darker fruits and nutty warmth. A hint of pineapple, a whisper of tobacco, and a firm grip of oaky spice.
Finish
Peaches and strawberries linger, along with light oak, pepper, and a tease of blackberry jam.
