Daily Tots were issued by the Royal Navy for hundred of years, up until July 1970 when they were removed. Ancient Mariner was made with the rum used by the Royal Navy in mind. To revive the classic rum, it was sampled and recreated using 16 year old cask strength rum from Trinidad distillery, Caroni.
Sweet with toffee, caramel and warm figs.
Syrupy in texture and sweetness. Cinnamon spiced fruits and a hint of oak.
A long, full finish.
Very rich and brimming with flavour. Wouldn't mind having this as a Daily Tot at all.
This is a fantastic rum. It has an incredible rich and intense flavour, but goes down very smoothly. Perfect for a cold winter evening.
This is an outstanding rum that provides a very rich, balanced flavor - peppery as it goes down the throat without any harshness. Although I give this a maximum rating, the bottle is not functional and causes much rum to drip down the sides while pouring. After a couple of attempts of deftly pouring, and failing badly while wasting much rum, I decided to empty the entire contents into a pan, and then pour back into another, empty rum bottle with a proper lip. Highly recommend it!
A lovely smooth Rum, gently creeps all the down really warming you up as it goes, marvellous!
