Just when you thought Rumbullion! and Rumbullion! Navy-Strength couldn't be beat, Ableforth's bring us Rumbullion! XO 15 Years Old. Once again, it's a spectacular, shipshape spiced rum inspired by the seafaring fraternity from centuries ago, but this time, it's the Captain's special reserve which he keeps locked in his quarters.
The blend of vanilla, orange peel and fine spices brings back the familiar, fantastic notes of the original, but the extraordinary 15 year old Caribbean rum at the core of Rumbullion! XO gives the rum a seductive, intense depth. Well balanced, full-bodied and packed with warmth, the Captain will not be likely to share a drop.
Best enjoyed neat, but it also makes an excellent spiced Palmetto cocktail...
A huge hit of creamy, sweet vanilla and juicy, freshly sliced oranges. There is a mulled wine-like delivery of toasted cinnamon and cloves, with a core of well-aged rum. Aromatic notes of dark chocolate, ripe plums and fragrant oak develop in the glass.
Exceedingly thick, mouth-coating palate-entry offering up crystallised peels, Seville orange marmalade and even a hint of blackberry. Soft chamois leather and cedar wood provide a complex backbone alongside a huge dosing of cinnamon, cloves and liquorice.
Long, sparkling finish with notes of old-fashioned cola cubes and intense bittersweet orange. A final flutter of toasted oak appears on the tail.
This XO edition includes all the rich flavour of the original Rumbullion! with an added dimension of depth and complexity.

Seldom have I ever come across a rum with as much complexity as this. It takes the best bits from El Dorado 15, Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva, and supercharges them with the additional oomph from the spices and vanilla. Simply Incredible. Well done professor.
I bought a dram of this to see whether it really was so much better than normal rumbullion (which I love). It really is - so much extra depth with the classic rumbullion spicy profile.
Tastes of old leather. Great as a scent to wear, not so much to drink. The real flavours come out in the standard Rumbullion and is so much more enjoyable and cheaper. Wish I bought two bottles of Rumbullion instead.
Excellent tipple? Definitely not a gulper or for mixing. A deep and smooth taste that stays on the pallet long after its gone down. Was lucky enough to get a sample of this in the premium rum tasting kit and now i want the bottle.
This rum is the best rum I think I have ever tried. The tasting notes above are very accurate, but I think the palate is more of a cola flavour (but not overbearing) than described above. The flavour of the rum somes through much more than in the normal rumbullion which is good as it's obviously very old.
