Rumbullion! is an extraordinary cockle-warming spiced rum, but those clever Ableforth's folks have changed the game with this limited edition Chilli & Chocolate expression! Criollo cocoa nibs, chipotle chillies and jalapeño chillies join the original Rumbullion! medley of Caribbean rum, Madagascan vanilla, orange peel, cassia, clove and cardamom, resulting in an indulgent and spicy flavour profile. Excellent served over ice, and it makes some marvellous cocktails too. Also, we reckon it'll be stunning as a winter warmer splashed in a hot chocolate...
Intense bittersweet dark chocolate leads with coffee beans, nutmeg, red cola cubes and orange zest in support. Earthy red chilli warmth emerges underneath and is balanced by creamy vanilla.
Black Forest gateau, drying cocoa and more thick slabs of dark chocolate are at the core, with gingerbread, cherry cola and hints of aniseed and clove in the back-drop.
Nutmeg, drying chilli heat and even more chocolate.
Something different, nice heat creamy thick mouth feel, not a session rum, but real nice for a treat, neat over nice. A friend says it goes well in creamy cocktails or lime n ginger beer stuff
I love rum, chilli & chocolate, sometime's it's hard to say in what order, so why wouldnt i try this? :) - i was a bit worried at first that maybe the chilli would overpower it, but they seem to have the proportions just about right, you can get so many flavours out of this drink, its great to nose as well as drink. I take it neat, & found that one glass is enough in a session, any more can leave your taste buds a little 'overcooked'.
It's as the description with the tasting notes. Not my cup of tea though. Heaps of dark chocolate . I am a fan of the normal rumbullion just not this.
A lovely rum that is a great combination of flavours ,not too strong on either chilli or chocolate but a fine blend leaving a great taste in the mouth that is very moreish. I enjoyed this over ice with no mixer and had meant to splash some into a coffee to see how that tasted but i'd finished it too soon to try this.
I've had both the standard and the Navy Strength Rumbullion before a few years ago and when iIsaw this as a lover of both chilli and chocolate I had to try it. Im not disappointed and will be buying another bottle soon as nearly all gone. Too nice mix with anything just sip it straight and enjoy the flavours.
