Criollo cocoa nibs, chipotle chillies and jalapeño chillies join the original Rumbullion! medley of Caribbean rum, Madagascan vanilla, orange peel, cassia, clove and cardamom, resulting in an indulgent and spicy flavour profile. Excellent served over ice, and it makes some marvellous cocktails too. Also, we reckon it'll be stunning as a winter warmer splashed in a hot chocolate...
Intense bittersweet dark chocolate leads with coffee beans, nutmeg, red cola cubes and orange zest in support. Earthy red chilli warmth emerges underneath and is balanced by creamy vanilla.
Black Forest gateau, drying cocoa and more thick slabs of dark chocolate are at the core, with gingerbread, cherry cola and hints of aniseed and clove in the back-drop.

The first taste is a smooth chocolate flavour on the tongue followed by the chilli hit at the back of the throat. The aftertaste is spiced rum with the extra kick of chilli.
A quality rum and you can definitely get the hint of chilli and chocolate. Although it was fine with ginger ale, I prefer it neat over ice and especially as a digestif. As such, probably won't be my first choice for an evening's rum session. I would definitely buy again and makes me want to check out other Rumbullion rums.

My personal take on this is from drinking it neat over ice. I took a decent mouthful and to me the first impression was an orangey citrus flavour, which moved delightfully to a warming chilli that lingered and ended with a dark chocolate taste that filled the mouth. A really lovely drink which I imagine would go well with a Madagascan vanilla cola or maybe a hot chocolate.
