Late Bottled Vintage Ports are some of our favourite regular releases from the big names in the Port world, offering up lip-smacking flavour profiles while remaining great value for money. Plus, since the wines spend a longer time maturing than regular vintages, they're ready to drink right away – no cellaring or decanting needed! Taylor's has been at it for many moons, and the expertise always shows. This one right here is the 2017 Late Bottled Vintage Port, packing layer after layer of dense fruit, fragrant oak, and a touch of chocolatey richness. Pour a glass of this and crack out a good chuck of stilton and you'll have done well.
Punchy notes of cherry, raspberry, and blackcurrant. Dark chocolate mousse underneath, with hints of cedar spiciness popping in from time to time.

Judging by the notes above I can only assume I got a dodgy bottle. This port is pretty much tasteless. Some woodiness on the palate, slightly drying, with a hit of sweetness on first arrival, but absolutely zero depth. Zero dense fruit and zero chocolatey richness. This isn’t ‘elegance’, this is ‘weakness’. A HUGE disappointment from the many ports I’ve had over the years.
