    Product details

Taylor’s Historical Collection - The Mallet

A marvellous tawny Port from Taylor's, this expression contains a unique blend of exquisite Port from its extensive aged tawny stock, which has been matured in seasoned Port casks. Released as part of Taylor’s Historical Collection, the design of this bottle is known as a ‘mallet-cylinder’, and if you're into the evolution of the humble glass bottle, it's really rather fascinating! This mallet style was common around the 1750s, after progressing from the more bulbous shape of older hand-blown glass, but before bottle necks became longer, to resemble the style of wine bottle that we are familiar with today. Now that is a great talking point to impress your guests with over a glass after dinner!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Rich notes of earthy coffee, slightly nutty with dried raisins, and prunes balancing silky caramel, warming oak, and mellow spice.

Reviews for Taylor’s Historical Collection - The Mallet

    Excellent Gift

I got this for a colleague who was retiring and he absolutely loved it. Good quality product, we loved the detail on the wooden box and the clever sliding top to get the bottle in. It was a good price and delivered quickly. Recommend as a gift for rum lovers.

Ideal present as a really good port

Have bought this a birthday present for my husband , he really likes it . One up from his usual tawny port.
