Graham's 40 Year Old Tawny Port
Graham's Port celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2020, though because of the pandemic the actual celebrations had to wait until 2022. Founded in 1820, since 1970 the house has been owned by the Symington family. This 40 year old tawny sits at the top of Graham's range. Unlike in Scotch whisky, 40 is an average age, it contains wood-aged Ports that are younger and older. What you get is an astonishing amount of complexity, think walnuts and dried fruit, combined with a remarkable freshness. Bring on the cheese board!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Powerful aromatic nose, menthol, tobacco and furniture polish. Subtle notes of jammy strawberry on the palate with orange peel, more tobacco and then nuts. Walnuts, hazelnuts and almonds, all the nuts.
