Jammy damson plums are used to make this gin-based liqueur from Lyme Bay Winery. The hand-picked damsons are left to infuse in London dry gin and some sugar for a few months, giving the flavours plenty of time to mellow and turn into this deliciously fruity and sweet liqueur.
Like quite a few companies that offer damson products this uses so much sugar the flavour of the fruit is completely emasculated. Quite unpleasant. Disappointing.
This has become my favourite tipple, I have it with elderflower tonic. A lovely winter warmer.
